Understanding the Rights and Risks of Non-Citizen Clients in Our Current Political Landscape

In this workshop, our presenters from the Legal Aid Society’s Immigration Law Unit will provide an overview of the following: the recent executive orders on immigration and an explanation of the options for undocumented individuals; the rights of non-citizens in the event of an arrest with specific attention to those with serious mental illness; an overview of the rights of parents and children in the school system; and advance planning for non-citizen parents facing deportation. This presentation targets non-lawyers, and is appropriate for professionals serving undocumented and/or non-citizen clients. This training is free of charge. Registration is required.
