in NYC Criminal Proceedings

Morning Session: 9:00 -12:30 (3 CLE hours)  

  • Understanding Mental Illness and Recovery
  • Risk of Violence and Risk of Reoffending: Considerations for Community-Based Diversion and ATI Programs
  • Overview of NYC Behavioral Health/Criminal Justice Initiatives

Afternoon Session: 1:30- 5:00 (3.5 CLE hours)

  • Best Practice use of Statutory Mechanisms in a Criminal Justice Setting (CPL 730 & 390, MHL 9.43)
  • First Person Perspectives: Shared Insights from Justice-Involved Individuals with Behavioral Health Needs
  • Job-related Fatigue: Ethical Concerns for Criminal Defense Attorneys, Prosecutors and Judges

Program will provide a maximum of 6.5  CLE credit hours (5 Professional Practice; 1.5 Ethics). Please note that this is the same training that was delivered in 2014 and 2015.  Double credit cannot be issued for those that have attended in the past.
