NYWBA Annual Meeting / Elections / Nomination Committees' Reports

The New York Women's Bar Association held its Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, PC, 488 Madison Avenue, 10th Floor (between 51st and 52nd Streets), NYC.

At this meeting, the Association held elections on open Officer, Director and Delegate positions for the NYWBA's upcoming terms. Members also had the opportunity to vote on the nominees for the 2013-2014 Officers of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY).


I. NYWBA Nominations and Elections

At its January 18, 2013 meeting, the NYWBA Committee on Nominations nominated candidates for the positions and terms stated below. The elections were held at the Association’s Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

The formal installation of the Officers, Directors and Delegates will take place at the NYWBA Annual Awards and Installation Dinner on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

NOTICE TO MEMBERS CONCERNING NYWBA ELECTIONS:

Article XIV, Section 1 of the By-Laws provides that only members who are in good standing and whose dues for this fiscal year were received by January 31, 2013 may vote at the Annual Meeting.

Article XVII, Section 10 of the By-Laws provides that any fifty members eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting may, by a writing delivered to the Corresponding Secretary not less than forty days prior to the Annual Meeting, propose candidates to be voted on at the Annual Meeting. Such petition must be sent to Corresponding Secretary Jennifer P. Brown, New York Women’s Bar Association, 132 East 43rd Street, The Chrysler Building, # 716, New York, New York 10017-4019 and received by or before March 22, 2013.

 

II. WBASNY Nominations and Elections

The Women's Bar Association of the State of New York will install President-elect Eonna E. Frosco (Westchester Chapter) as President at the WBASNY Annual Convention on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The WBASNY Nominations Committee nominated the following candidates for other officer positions (by position, nominee & nominee’s WBASNY Chapter) in March 2013. The NYWBA membership voted to elect the WBASNY slate of officers at the NYWBA Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

The newly-elected WBASNY Officers will be installed at the WBASNY Annual Convention on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Radisson Plaza - Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
