I. NYWBA Nominations and Elections

At its December 10, 2010 and January 12, 2011 meetings, the NYWBA Committee on Nominations nominated the following candidates to serve during the terms stated below. The elections were held at the Association’s Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, and each of the following individuals was election to the positions indicated. NOTICE TO MEMBERS CONCERNING NYWBA ELECTIONS:

Article XIV, Section 1 of the By-Laws provides that only members who are in good standing and whose dues for this fiscal year were received by January 31, 2011 may vote at the Annual Meeting.

Article XVII, Section 10 of the By-Laws provides that any fifty members eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting may, by a writing delivered to the Corresponding Secretary not less than forty days prior to the Annual Meeting, propose candidates to be voted on at the Annual Meeting. Such petition must be sent to Corresponding Secretary Bonnie Cohen-Gallet, New York Women’s Bar Association, 132 East 43rd Street, The Chrysler Building, # 716, New York, New York 10017-4019 and received by or before March 18, 2011. In 2011, no such petition was received, so the above candidates were submitted to the membership for election at the NYWBA Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

 

II. WBASNY Nominations and Elections

The Women's Bar Association of the State of New York will install President-elect Karen Richardson as President at the WBASNY Annual Convention on Saturday, May 21, 2010. The WBASNY Nominations Committee nominated the following candidates for other officer positions (by position, nominee & nominee’s WBASNY Chapter) in March 2011, and the NYWBA membership voted to elect the WBASNY slate of officers at the NYWBA Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
